Patient Portal for The Rochester RHIO

Fusion Productions worked with the Greater Rochester Regional Health Information Organization to develop a Patient Portal for consumer engagement. The first of its kind in the nation, this unique web application allows patients to create an account with the Rochester RHIO, identity proof themselves, electronically manage their consent choices, request a medical records audit, and update their demographic information. Planned future functionality includes a link to Google Health's PHR, the ability for a consumer to scan and attach an advanced directive to their record, and management of health plan level 1 and level 2 nondurable consent. The Patient Portal is seamlessly integrated with two well-known products in the HIT space, Axolotl's Elysium Exhange and Anakam's TFA and IDP solutions.

Patient Portal Functionality:

  • Consumer-tested functional user interface
  • Consumer identity proofing using Anakam's IDP product
  • Two-factor authentication upon login using Anakam's TFA product
  • Elysium ID lookup using the Patient Demographics Query (PDQ)
  • Integration with the Elysium Physician Address Book (PAB) for provider lookup
  • Management of consent choices via data exchange and HL7
  • Sitecore CMS to manage integrated consumer-facing marketing website
