Fusion President Chairs International Association

(July 21, 2004)

Hugh K. Lee, President, Fusion Productions, has been named Chairman of the Board of Meeting Professionals International's (MPI's) 2004-2005 International Board of Directors.

Lee has been active in MPI for more than a decade and the $102.3 billion meetings industry for over 30 years. He and his company pioneered the idea of Return on Investment (ROI) in the meetings industry, and developed the first formal program that trained meeting professionals to do so.

Some of Lee's other professional accomplishments include: Inductee to the 2002 Convention Industry Council's (CIC) Hall of Leaders; researcher and designer of Maximizing Your ROI training program for the MPI Foundation; designer and producer of the White House Conference on Travel and Tourism; and presenter of meeting related topics at over 100 MPI chapter programs and conferences.

Lee's focus as Chairman of MPI will be enhancing the 19,000-member organization's growth and on beginning the major execution stage of the association's multi-year strategic plan, Pathways to Excellence. Pathways was designed to demonstrate the value of meetings and meeting professionals to an organization's bottom line, expand and focus the continuing education available to meeting professionals ("Skills For Life"), and provide tools and technology to track and report the degree to which meetings help an organization accomplish specific goals and objectives.
