Fusion’s Storytelling Showcased at MPI

(February 2004)

Fusion Productions brought 2,000 attendees to their feet during the opening general session at MPI's 2004 Professional Education Conference (PEC-NA), January 18 in San Antonio, TX.

Keynote presenter and filmmaker Eric Saperston and national recording artist Edwin McCain combined emotional performances with excerpts from Eric’s award-wining documentary “The Journey.” The event drew rave reviews from MPI PEC attendees.

The design of the session supported the launch of MPI’s Pathways to Excellence Strategic Plan. Creating a road from the entrance of the ballroom through the room and up a ramp to the stage reinforced the correlation between “Pathways” and “The Journey”. Following the session, the road extended to the breakout sessions and was lined with “road signs” showcasing MPI programs that support the Strategic Plan.

The stage design incorporated a variety of Transformits products http://www.transformitdesign.com/. The twenty-five 3 dimensional shapes worked together to create an uplifting design. Intelligent lighting patterns and color changes kept the stage visually dynamic.

For the second consecutive year, Fusion also designed and produced the MPI Leadership Academy – a two-day program for senior meeting professionals. Jim Taylor, a leading business futurist, and Karen Stephenson, acclaimed author and researcher in corporate culture and communication, focused the program on current and future business realities.

“Our mission for MPI is to provide the very best learning and motivational experience for our friends in the corporate and association meeting planning community,” said Hugh Lee, President of Fusion and incoming MPI chairman. Lee added, "The challenges facing our industry and profession require a businesslike approach to meetings married with the ability to tell a story that engages, inspires and sparks the imagination.”
