Case Study: Kodak Breakaway Conference Web Site

Organization

Eastmane Kodak Company holds an annual sales kick-off meeting for Eastman Kodak's Document Imaging (DI) Division (Management & Sales Team from US, Canada and Latin America) as well as Eastman Kodak's Channel Partners (includes their Resellers, Distributors, Service Bureaus, Manufacturers, Independent Software Vendors & Data Document Conversion Centers). This by-invitation-only event focuses on educating Kodak's channel partners about new products as well as giving Kodak representatives an opportunity to network with their clients.

Challenge

Kodak was looking for a way to alleviate some of the manual tasks their planning staff dealt with on a daily basis when it came to conference and housing registration. In addition, they wanted to make the process as easy as possible for their channel partners.

Solution

Fusion built a meeting web site for Kodak's meeting that provided planning staff with full administrative capabilities over the site. Sessions could be added, closed due to maximum capacity, and delete through an administrative interface. At a moment's notice, planning staff could generate hotel and registration reports. In addition, when registering for the conference, invitee's profile information was pre-populated in the form, making the process for registering less time-consuming.

Results

The Breakaway Conference web site has helped to increase attendance by giving channel partners and Kodak employees around the globe a universal means to register for the conference. Kodak employees enjoy the availability of reports, and appreciate the fact that they can control what’s on the web site in their own timeframe. The customized solution created for Kodak was created with the intention of being reused from year to year, saving Kodak web site fees and allowing them to focus more on planning the event rather than the web site.
