Challenge

Bring together a management force comprised of managers from company-owned and franchised stores in 17 countries for the first time following a merger that combined the leadership teams from two companies – formerly competitors.

Solution

  • Present a unified leadership by careful orchestration and coordination of the various messages presented by each member of the leadership team.
  • Provide tangible proof of commitment – in this case, accomplished by a “Commitment Board” signed by leadership as well as all 500 center managers in attendance.
  • Prove that senior leadership understands the concerns of field personnel and franchise owners during a turbulent time, accomplished by creating a “Greek chorus” that gave voice to those concerns before each leadership presentation – getting the issues into the open in a non-confrontational way that superceded the expectations of the audience.
  • Provide a means for taking the message back to the field by developing a post-conference video and facilitation guide.

Results

Over the next few months, HQ Global was able to demonstrate brand cohesiveness as it nearly doubled in size and presence.
