WEC 2003, San Francisco

The stage was designed to emulate the famous Golden Gate — without being too literal. More than one official from the local CVB remarked that it was the best interpretation of the bridge they had seen to date.

Set design

Although the stage itself was only 60 feet wide, the entire footprint, including the spandex "sails," outboard screens and trusswork stretched from one side of the hall to the other. The impact of the full view upon entering the room was stunning.

Set design

More than 100 color changing lighting instruments (which could be re-focused and colored at the touch of a button) kept the set "alive." Each presenter had their "look," and within each look were subtle variations — and a constant "glimmer" effect that evoked sunlight reflecting off a watery surface.
